Daumenkino – The Flip Book Show

ドイツ語でフリック・ブックを意味する Daumenkino は、仮現運動を使ったパラパラ漫画形式の本のこと。アニメーションの起源として知られるこの本の形式にも多くのアーティストの本が存在します。2005年にはその成果を体系的に纏めたこのジャンル唯一とも言える決定的な展覧会が Kunsthalle Düsseldorf で開催されました。京都 raeume.spaces では、3月末日まで Kunsthalle Düsseldorf のカタログに掲載されているアーティストの本を主に、古今東西の Daumenkino を集めた（20点ほどの）小特集をショーケースで展開しています。この機会にぜひお立ち寄りください。

“Daumenkino” which means Flip Book in German, is a book consisting of a series of images that create the illusion of flowing movement. It is also said to be the origin of animation. There are many artists’ books in this category, and the exhibition held at Kunsthalle Dusseldorf in 2005 is evaluated as one of achievements.Until the end of March, raeume.spaces in Kyoto will feature
